Paul is a seasoned energy industry leader with over 32 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, specialising in Exploration, Appraisal and Development. During this time Paul developed expertise across many disciplines including geology, petrophysics, prospect generation, geocellular modelling, strategic planning, business development, negotiations, and stakeholder relations. Paul has held various technical and leadership roles in leading operator companies including CNOOC International, Nexen, BP, Enterprise Oil and Amoco. Most recently Paul was VP Global Exploration New Ventures with CNOOC International.
Paul holds a BSc (Hons) Geology from the University College Cork, Ireland, and an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from Aberdeen University, Scotland. He also trained as a petrophysicist in Amoco Tulsa Technology Centre.
Always keen to learn new skills, in January 2024 Paul moved to SLB as Global Exploration Advisor in the Exploration Data and Geosolutions function, marking his first venture into the services sector!
