Cumarran is currently the Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) for Asia at Microsoft, where he oversees strategic data-driven transformations for key clients. Prior to joining Microsoft, he led the Travel and Finance Data Analytics business in Google Southeast Asia, and authored Google’s flagship ‘e-conomy’ report in 2021.
Other previous experiences include working at McKinsey & Company, where he assisted global clients with enterprise-wide data transformations, concentrating on data strategy, use case delivery, and data asset monetization. He was also seconded to QuantumBlack in London, McKinsey's Center of Excellence for Data and AI, to establish their first office in Singapore in 2019.
A Singapore Armed Forces scholar, Cumarran served 8 years as a Combat Drone Pilot where he led multi-national military exercises globally. He was also the Private Military Aide to the President of Singapore and Foreign Military Secretary to the Minister for Defence and the Chief of Air Force.
