Datuk Anuar took the helm as Sapura Energy Group CEO in March 2021. Prior to joining the Company, Datuk Anuar – an Upstream industry stalwart – has had vast experience in exploration and production (E&P) as Executive Vice President Upstream PETRONAS, and Chairman of Shell Malaysia; a position held only by a handful of Malaysians.
With a career in oil and gas spanning more than 30 years, Datuk Anuar spearheaded various technical, commercial, and leadership positions covering upstream regulatory functions, E&P, refinery, gas, and LNG; downstream marketing commercial functions; and integrated service company with national, regional, and global coverage.
Datuk Anuar holds an M.B.A in International Management from RMIT University, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
